The wonderful valley of Nera River is one of the more unknown areas to classical touristic routes, as Assisi, Spello, Montefalco, Perugia, Orvieto, etc…; and in this unpolluted and verdant landscape, where guests' eyes pause over small villages of white stones, we meet Vallo di Nera, with its boundary walls, the medieval castle, the romanic churches rich with Giotto's frescos, where nature and culture merge to let us taste the touch with these beautiful lands.
Because of such reasons, about 10 years ago we decided to start with this adventure, 'La Locanda di Cacio Re': a small restaurant, where we try to join our past experience to the great local products, with a wide proposal of innovative menu, but without forgetting umbrian traditions: cheeses, black truffle, delicatessen products from Norcia, meats from breeding in local farms; moreover, the Nera river, with its crystal clear waters, provides us with trouts, crayfishes and eels.
Finally, a well-stocked winery, with the wines from the nearby Montefalco, together with those from all over Italy, and also grappas and distillery, helping us after a long day spent fishing on the river...
And after all of this, our guests will rest in the Locanda's rooms, tasting the quiet of the night, broken only by sounds from some night-animals.
And then the wake up, every morning sweetier than the rest, thanks to the flavour of home-made cakes, jams, fresh cheeses and hand sliced ham…
